COACH JASON SHAUGHNESSY
Head Coach
During Jason's tenure, beginning in 1997-1998, he has transformed Fairfield wrestling into a perennial powerhouse, being ranked top ten in the state 22 out of the last 24 seasons. Head Coach of Fairfield HS and Fairfield Warde HS, Coach Shaughnessy has a record of 505-97-2 (83.6%). Fairfield Warde has been recognized FCIAC East Champions nineteen out of twenty seasons, as well as FCIAC Champions in 2010, 2023, & 2024, State Class L Champions in 2006, 2009, and 2010, and State Class LL Champions in 2024.

FHS/Warde has finished top 2 in the state 13 times during Coach Shaughnessy's tenure. Coach Shaughnessy has been recognized FCIAC Coach of the Year (2000, 2009, and 2010) and Class L Coach of the Year (2006, 2009, 2010). In 2010, Coach Shaughnessy was also recognized CT Coach of the Year and FCIAC for all sports. In 2019, he was inducted into the CT Wrestling Hall of Fame (see video below). In 2022, Coach Shaughnessy was inducted into the FCAC Hall of Fame. Coach Shaughnessy is married to Karin Shaughnessy, and are proud parents of three children: Cole, Emma, and Paige.
